Our Small Groups are getting ready to launch a another exciting congregation-wide study by PhD. Sandra Richter.  Dr. Richter is one of the finest teachers of the Old Testament in the world and the author of the study puts it this way, “The Old Testament of the Bible can feel like a junk drawer – a disorganized collection of important stuff we don’t want to lose yet don’t know what to do with".     “The Epic of Eden” series is for those looking for a deeply substantive and profoundly spiritual exploration of the Old Testament.

For this series, we will be studying the Book of Isaiah.    The Book of Judges narrates one of the most chaotic and morally dark eras of Israel’s story. Many speak of it as Israel’s “Wild West,” where the heroes and the villains stand only inches apart. Into this morally-ambiguous time comes one of the most unlikely leaders of the biblical text—the prophet Deborah. She is a wife and mother in an entirely patriarchal world, yet due to her integrity and courage, she transforms chaos into order and leads Israel in one of the most pivotal victories of the settlement period.

It is perfect for our robust Cross of Christ Small Groups and promises to be a wonderfully stimulating dig into the Old Testament with a view to understanding the New Testament and, yes, even our own lives.
If you are not yet part of a small group, give us your particulars so we can figure out a way to welcome you into this enjoyable and connective Small Group experience. contact our office for more information.
