Love and Sent

In the Gospel reading, we hear Jesus talking about the crowd as "sheep without a shepherd". This is not only describing the crowd in front of Jesus that day, but it is also describing us. But the heart of the Gospel reading is the compassion of Jesus. He is moved deeply within Himself and he looks upon the hurting humanity with mercy and love. And then notice what Jesus does. He doesn't have people do nothing. He sends.
